Here's an entertaining project that I doubled as a Christmas gift. It's affordable, and while not very difficult, the finished product is immaculate.

Steps to Follow
1. Purchase your 8'x1' pine wood. We purchased ours from Home Depot. Then cut into three, each piece measuring 3'.
2. Time to tape. Measure and tape according to the look you want to achieve. The turquoise/white tray was taped on an angle, each piece measuring 4 inches.

Alternatively, you can also make your trays to be chalkboard. Both looks are great, it just depends on your personal taste. These boards were first stained, and then measured to make a 2 inch boarder around. Then, painted over several times with chalk paint.

3. Attach your handles. We had leftovers from a previous project, but to save money check out re purposed stores in your area such as Habitat for Humanity.
4. Apply 4 square felt pieces over the screws to provide protection. And you are finished!
Hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Please share how your DIY tray turned out .
